Year 12's

There's no ATAR requirement for any of our courses. There are no subject or individual score requirements either.

Applications must meet the following criteria:

Completion of Year 12, or the state or international equivalent — this includes VCE, Senior VCE VM*, HSC, IB or state/international equivalent

A successful entry conversation with a Future Student Advisor

A creative submission or portfolio relevant to your chosen course — see our Creative Submission Guide for what to include

*Senior VCE VM applicants are eligible for diploma courses only, which may be used as a pathway into a bachelor's degree.

Non-Year 12's

Applications must meet one of the following criteria:

Completion of at least half of the first year of study (0.5 EFTSL) of a higher education diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree or higher, or international equivalent

A VET Certificate or Diploma

An international equivalent qualification

Work and life experience

If you’re not ready for the Bachelor of Music Performance, you can start with our shorter Diploma of Music Performance, where you’ll build essential foundations in instrumental or vocal technique, ensemble performance, music theory, and live performance skills through an industry-relevant curriculum designed to prepare you for further study and a career in music.

Write musical compositions and lyrics for songs, either on your own or with a team of co-writers. Perform your own songs or write for other artists.

Perform songs or musical compositions in a studio setting for recording and release. You may work closely with a band, music producer, sound engineer, and songwriters.

Elliott Folvig - Course Lead

Brett Langsford

An accomplished composer, guitarist and producer from Melbourne, Brett has been working professionally since 1998. He has composed, recorded and performed with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Dan Sultan, The Verses (Ella Hooper), Paris Wells, The Hello Morning, Spender and many more. He has also supported Jimmy Barnes, Casey Chambers, Counting Crows (USA) and Fleetwood Mac on their 2009 Australian tour.
